We just got back from Burma! It was a quick trip…much quicker than we thought. We were supposed to go to a church there. We left our car on the Thailand side and walked across the long bridge in the hot sun. It is similar to crossing the bridge into Mexico at Laredo.
Easter in Thailand
Today is the Thai New Year and it is Water Festival week week, which means that everyone is throwing water on each other! The youth from all over have come to this small town in pick up trucks. They are standing up in the back of the trucks and they are cruising and throwing water on passers by! They especially enjoy dousing those on the motorcycles. The people along the road are armed with water pistols, buckets and hoses and are dousing those on motor cycles and trucks. They all seem to be enjoying it a lot as it is hot here. About 112 degrees today!
Palm Sunday in Thailand
Christi and I are sitting outside at a picnic table having a cup of Starbucks coffee (French Press). We carry it with us. We are really enjoying working as a team with Wade & Linda Thompson, from Houston.
We just finished a 5 day “Leadership Training Conference” with refugees from the Karen People. They are from Burma and are wonderful friends. Several of the men were formerly Buddhist priests, now are very happy serving the Lord Jesus. Our hosts are Scott & Brenda St. Pierre. Brenda runs their orphanage, but Scott works here in the mountains of Thailand with the Karen People.
