Everything is going well. We had a great service last night. Today, we have a march from downtown Maun to the Tent (about a 45 minute walk). There is a worldwide organization called Reach For Life that promotes abstinence from Pre-marital sex… Love Botswana has helped promote this and has helped organize abstinence clubs in all the schools. The march today involves the youth in these clubs. We get to ride in the Landcruiser… they are going to decorate it this morning at 10. We are happy about riding as its been over a 110 degrees here in the sun!
One of the dogs on campus, “Big Man” had a cobra spit in his eyes on Wednesday! They called Ron to ask for some milk so they could put it in his eyes. (This is the best cure.) The swelling is going down and he is fine. At first he was moving all around, so pouring the milk in his eyes was a challenge! Apparently he felt some relief, as he began immediately to cooperate and just laid there, poor thing.
The speed limit going to Maun is 35 MPH. We are never on a highway where it even goes to 48 MPH. So, 35 MPH is as fast as we ever go. Most of the drivers here only go 24 MPH. Since the speed limit is 38 MPH, and they go 24 MPH, we often find ourselves in the passing lane whizzing along at 38 MPH, and almost get an adrenalin rush. J If we drive slower when we return, then this will be the reason why. J
