During our recent conference, approximately 38 people were baptized on a Sunday afternoon! Many of these were from the Branch Churches of the Village Church, Love Botswana Outreach Mission. We are just coming in to spring here so the water was quite cold for the people, but they were singing and rejoicing anyway!
The Ladies of New Salem Baptist Church
Excerpt from Christi’s Journal:
This week, on Sunday Afternoon we had a special Ladies Meeting at the Village Church. A missionary team from New Salem Baptist Church in Columbus, Ohio brought us a workshop on Worship and Choreography. We had a good number of ladies that came, young and old. We spread out throughout the tent and followed the Pastor’s wife from New Salem Baptist Church as she taught us beautiful dance steps, we also gathered around the altar and sang three-part harmony with their great worship leader.
Beauty’s Prayer
During prayer time at the Sunday Morning Service at the All Nations Village Church, one of our leaders, Beauty, called on anyone that wanted the Baptism of the Holy Spirit to come to the front to pray. About 40 people responded, lots of them were young people. As the leaders began to pray for them many began to speak with other tongues. The service was amazing.
Two Wonderful Teams
We have two wonderful short-term mission teams at the Love Botswana Outreach Mission right now. They are such a blessing ministering at the Church, Bible College, going to the Prisons, working with “children at risk”, helping with office work, visiting the hospital, and basically doing whatever their “hands find to do” to minister to others. Praise God for such faithful friends!
A Blessed Gift of Starbucks & Mexican Food!
Excerpt from Christi’s journal:
We have a team of short term missionaries here at the moment. The “REZ Team” or, Resurrection Team, from Michigan. They are coming here to the house at 2 pm and they are going to make a Mexican meal for all the missionaries on the plot! They have brought all the fixin’s from the U.S.A. and they said we can just turn our kitchen over to them. So isn’t that nice? Also, they heard that Ron likes Starbucks coffee and they brought him quite a few bags of beans to take us through our time here. Praise the Lord!
Last night was the first night of the Bible School for this term. Ron and I so enjoyed teaching. Ron taught on Principles of Leadership and I taught Homiletics — I especially like teaching at the Bible School.
